Will have more to say later. Oct 18, Heather rated it liked it Shelves: , kids-books-i-would-recommend. I liked the underlying premise, and the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Keatston, and of course! I also really liked the characters - the children, Cassie the pig, and crazy-acting old lady Howard. I spent a lot of the middle portion of the book being frustrated that no one but these few kids seemed to realize that the mushroom were more than an unwelcome development, though. On the other hand, I love how things wrapped up, particularly everything that happe I liked the underlying premise, and the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Keatston, and of course!
On the other hand, I love how things wrapped up, particularly everything that happens after Eric's finds the core and thinks he's solved the issue. One of my main issues with the book was that I really wanted Eric to get into a little bit of trouble. Throwing a pumpkin at a policeman?
Breaking into a school? Staying out all night? Going to another town without permission? Never being where he told his parents he would be? And there were only minor consequences?! I was yelling at Eric - "Don't be an idiot! Oh wait, there were no consequences.
Sadly, I'm sure I only care because I'm a grownup. Kids probably won't care in the least - they'll just be glad Eric gets away with everything! Sep 28, Adrian Valle rated it liked it. Eric was in the back of their house in the woods they were normal eating suddenly they heard that their parents were fighting because of Eric over a pig.
The Tanglewood Terror
This book is fiction it is a made up story. The author knew this book was a mystery.
There was something wrong in the town something happened back then. Eric couldn't find a way then he found a very old mystery that they saved the town. The theme of the story is Eric was imagining real life thing Eric was in the back of their house in the woods they were normal eating suddenly they heard that their parents were fighting because of Eric over a pig. The theme of the story is Eric was imagining real life things that the town is going to get destroyed. Eric thought that he had to come up with something to save the town. Eric was talking with a runaway person then he saw and the girl disappeared he try to discover what happened back then in that town he thought something was wrong.
I was surprised when that girl disappeared and that something happened back then it was a mystery that runaway girl died back then she knew what was going to happen she told Eric something bad. I rate this book 3 stars because I don't like mystery books it didn't have alot of intersting parts. I would recommend this book to people that like to solve things the right way and people that like mystery books. Eric saved the town from everybody because he knew what was going to happen.

Always fun to have a Minnesota author with Minnesota references. Rather enjoyed the younger brother Brian and his interaction with his older brother Eric, the protagonist. Cassie the pig is hilarious. What a fun character. Tanglewood, a town only vaguely depicted and not The Tanglewood Terror. Kurtis Scaletta.
